January 2026
Our year started off with an invitation to speak at Christchurch of the Nazarene in Christchurch, New Zealand, located on the South Island. (See pictures below of our excursion day.)
Pastor Lanz Anoa’i Tutuila was our host, along with his wife Luse. Cindy preached a sermon on “Recovering our Direction for Holiness”. Praise God for many who were seeking God in special prayers after the service and one woman gave her heart to Jesus for the first time. AMEN!!!

We spent Saturday touring the countryside near Christchurch and in the charming town of Lyttelton. In the heart of summer, ChristChurch has mild weather like Vancouver Island in BC, Canada. We wore our puffy Costco goosedown jackets as it was cold to us coming from Brisbane where it is in the 90’s most days.

As we were completing the journey back to Brisbane last month, God was moving our spirits to be ready for change.
How do you know when you have completed the work you were sent to do? Especially when there is so much more to do!
Through our quiet time we were reminded of the scripture in 1 Corinthians 3:6 where Paul shares that “I planted the seed in your hearts, Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.” After praying, journaling, and many discerning moments, this verse became a pivotal moment of recognition that we have only a small part of God’s greater story. This text brought confirmation in our hearts that seeds had been sown and now it was time for others to move into this work in Australia.
Our calling for this next season is pulling us to return to our home in Olathe, Kansas, to serve Rob’s parents who are 93 and 91 years of age.
Change is always challenging, and we will truly miss all those we have grown to love these last two years here in Australia. So you are some of the first to hear… Rob has accepted a position with the General Secretary’s office to serve at the Nazarene Global Ministry Center in Kansas City area, to help with the preparation for General Assembly.
Our service as Nazarene Missionaries will end on 15 FEB 2026. We want to say a BIG Thank You to all who have supported us over the last five years as we have been serving as self-supported missionaries (Nazarene-Sponsored missionaries). We could not have done this without you!
We are so thankful for each of you who sacrificed in order to be part of our serving in Kenya and Australia. As part of the family of God, you have participated with us through your prayers and financial and emotional support. Many of you reading this newsletter may have helped give toward the Caravan and Land Cruiser equipment. If the field is unable to use this equipment, the proceeds of the selling of these two vehicles will go directly to support the New Pioneer work in the Kimberley’s which the Broome Nazarene Church is apart of. Pray that God will send out the workers to the incredibly wonderful Aboriginal people in the Kimberley region who truly need the Holiness message of hope and transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit. Continue to pray for Mathew Taylor as he tries to balance, work, family and studies toward a theological training and ordination.
For those reading this that give on a regular basis through a bank draft – those will end on 16 FEB 2026. For those sending a check, they will be returned to you. Please write us at [email protected] if this proves to be challenging.
Next Steps for us
Cindy feels called to write and support ministry with Gen Z Prayer Ministry, as well as lead prayer retreats. If you are interested in hosting a prayer retreat in your local area and want Cindy to come lead it, write her directly at [email protected].
Rob will be working as a volunteer for the Asia Pacific region in the area of fundraising and development. Director of Development for Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary has been a small role for Rob in the last two years. He hopes to create a newsletter for APNTS in the near future.
Next Steps for the website
Our plan at this point will be to continue the www.RobandCindyNorth.com website. The face of the website will change, but we will share what is going on when there is new news to share.
I am sure there will be stories shared and projects to support through prayer and financial giving. The links will go directly to the ministry you can support, instead of to our missionary account. Hope that makes sense.
Huge thanks once again to all those who have supported our ministry through giving and prayer, and joining us on our missionary journey!
