Looks Like We Made It

Often words of songs come to mind when something happens in life for me. As the final tallies were given and reported to us in 2024, the Barry Manilow song from my youth echoed in my head…”Looks like we made it…” A BIG thank you to each of you who prayed and gave to reach our goal of $20,000 to provide the needed funds to get us to Broome by March! Thank you God for helping us reach this goal well ahead of time so we can undergo necessary maintenance and preparations to head North.

DISTRICT ASSEMBLIES – AUSTRALIA JANUARY 2025

January is the month for District Assemblies in Australia. Cindy and I had the privilege of attending both of them. The North and West district remotely from Perth and the Southern District on-site in Melbourne.

NORTH & WEST

Under the leadership of Rev Richard Giesken

He also co-Pastors the Redlands Church of the Nazarene and lectures at NTC Brisbane.

SOUTHERN

Under the leadership of Rev. Satish Manmothe

He also Pastors the Birrong Church of the Nazarene.

One of our favorite parts of the Southern District Assembly/Family Camp was the Cultural Talent Show that took place on Saturday night. So many cultures and world areas represented!! Greece, Samoa, India, South Sudan and many, many, more. all sharing their talent.

Australia has only two Districts for the Church of the Nazarene. Let me let that sink in….The Country is as large as the continental US. The only thing to say is WOW!

Please Pray for the Churches in Australia – To learn more about each of the Churches go to www.nazarene.org.au. On the site click on the “Churches” tab to see where each is located and see some of the interesting ministries churches do in Australia.

SPECIAL PEOPLE YOU MEET ALONG THE WAY

Right before we attended the North and West District Assembly in Perth we had the opportunity to visit Dr. Bob and Sue Woodruff, who served in many world areas but especially impacted the development of Africa Nazarene University. Bob’s doctorate in International Curriculum Development was the right person at the right time available to help get all the initial courses ready for approval so ANU could begin offering University-level education in Kenya.

Even after departing to live in Australia, Bob served at ANU for many years, commuting for several months at a time to and from Kenya and Australia for years and years to start ANU on a stable footing. Thank you to both Bob and Sue for your tireless efforts to serve where GOD plants you.
